For all those who dread the impending holiday family gatherings!

As we approach the most magical time of the year (and by magical, we mean filled with drama and chaos), let's indulge in a light-hearted Yuletide ritual to keep our spirits high and our energy balanced. Gather your white sage and a red candle; it's time to embrace the festivities with humor and grace.

Step 1: Assemble Your Tools

You will need:

One white sage bundle (or a single sage leaf if you're feeling minimalist)

One red candle (hopefully unscented because we're going for subtlety here)

A lighter or matches

Step 2: Create a Safe Space

Find a cozy corner away from prying eyes, where you can have a few minutes of solitude. Lock the bathroom door if necessary. Privacy is key.

Step 3: Light the Red Candle

In a nod to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, light your red candle and marvel at its glow. Imagine that it represents the guiding light through the labyrinth of family gatherings, and say:

"Oh, red candle, light my way,

Lead me through the family fray.

Bring joy, laughter, and good cheer,

Keep away drama, oh so clear."

Step 4: Cleanse with Sage

Now, take your white sage bundle or leaf (remember, it's about intention), and use it to smudge yourself and your space. As you waft the sage smoke around, visualize it purifying the atmosphere and banishing negative energy.

Say with conviction:

"Sage, cleanse away the tension and strife,

Bring peace to my family, and light up my life.

With your fragrant smoke, make harmony real,

Heal any conflicts, for good Yuletide feels."

Step 5: Set Your Intentions

Hold the red candle and feel its warmth. As you do, set your intentions for a smooth family gathering. Imagine everyone laughing, sharing love, and generally being tolerable.

Proclaim with a twinkle in your eye:

"On this Yuletide day so merry and bright,

May family interactions be a pure delight.

Let us find joy in our quirks and diversity,

And fill our hearts with love and unity."

Step 6: Blow Out the Candle

Gently blow out the red candle, sealing your intentions for a peaceful and amusing family time.

And there you have it, dear friends! The Yuletide Family Survival Ritual to keep your spirits high and your family gatherings light. Remember, it's all in good fun. May your holiday season be filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of eye-rolling. Blessed be, and happy holidays!
