Magical Herbs by Shelly Kay
I’ll be honest, cinnamon is my favorite and if I could put it in everything I would. I put it in chili, French toast & pancakes, and coffee but I’m hesitant to try it in eggs… I consider it my personal power herb and anytime I am not feeling my power, I’ll chew some cinnamon gum. It's also my comfort smell and nothing makes me feel better or more like me than cinnamon.
Cinnamon has been in use since at least 2000 B.C. It was considered a status symbol and luxury item that few could afford as its source was a highly kept secret. Cinnamon had a leading role in discovering the worlds beyond the shores of Eurasia and the spice trade. Many a merchant trader became wealthy, but also a new world view began -the world wasn’t flat anymore. That brought lots of money to the trade of this spice quickly.
It is associated with Mercury, Dionysus, Aphrodite and Venus. Money, sex, and love - the cultural status symbols of today. But there is so much more to Cinnamon. If you need something to happen fast or a give it a jumpstart; it’s also linked with fire, the sun, and the zodiac sign Aries. Connected to the root and sacral chakras it can be used to increase your libido and lesson depression.
The heat of cinnamon really does put a fire in your belly, a jump in your step, and make you want to reach your goals. To aid this, craft a cinnamon bowl (recipe below) and once dry place symbols of your goals you want to achieve within. You could alternatively, create or shape symbols of your goals instead of the bowl. Place where needed - weight loss: on or in the fridge or snack drawer, money: place in wallet, write a book: place in view of computer/laptop, etc.
Cinnamon is also a very powerful protection herb and amps up any charm or spell. It will likely light a fire under anything trying to harm you and drive them off very quickly. I’ve actually had it work so quickly, that the negative energies moved so quickly that it created a strong wind and the doors slammed on the way out!
ALL essential oils must be properly diluted. DO NO put the oil on your bare skin as it can literally burn you. And if you are pregnant, please be careful with it. And do not do the cinnamon challenge or inhale the powder.
